Description

The Youth4Climate Call for Solutions 2026 marks the fourth round of funding and learning opportunities dedicated to advancing youth-led climate innovation. Open to young people across 158 countries and territories covered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Call supports projects that are ready to be implemented or scaled. Since 2023, Youth4Climate has awarded USD 4 million to 150 youth-led projects across 59 countries. In 2026, selected applicants may request up to USD 30,000 in seed funding, alongside structured learning and mentorship support. Projects can run for a maximum of 24 months and may be submitted in English, French, Spanish, or Portuguese. What Is the Call for Solutions? The Call is a global innovation challenge targeting: Youth aged 18–29 Youth-led organizations Climate-focused solutions ready for implementation or scaling The initiative funds both new and existing projects while strengthening applicants’ capacity through targeted learning opportunities. 2026 Thematic Areas Applicants must align their proposals with one of six priority themes: Sustainable Energy Food & Agriculture Climate, Peace and Security Oceans and Blue Economy Sustainable Fashion and Textiles Architecture for Adaptation Each thematic reflects evolving climate priorities and supports integrated, justice-centered solutions. Who Can Apply? Eligible applicants include: Young individuals aged 18–29 who meet all eligibility requirements Legally registered youth-led CSOs, NGOs, CBOs, or companies where the majority of leadership is aged 18–29 Organizations where the designated project lead is aged 18–29 at the time of application Additional requirements: The proposed project must be implemented in an eligible country listed in the Guidelines The project lead must be a national of one of the listed eligible countries Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the official Guidelines document before beginning the process. How to Apply Step 1: Prepare Before Applying All applications must be completed through the Application Portal. Before starting: Carefully read the Call for Solutions Guidelines Review eligibility and alignment requirements Download and prepare the Budget and Workplan templates Explore available learning opportunities Preparation significantly strengthens proposal quality and completeness. Step 2: Submit Your Application Applications must be submitted through the official portal before the deadline. Applicants must: Answer all application questions fully Upload completed Budget and Workplan templates Submit the required video component Ensure all required documents are included Incomplete or late submissions will not be reviewed. Application Deadline: 30 April 2026 Step 3: After Submission Once submitted: Monitor email and platform notifications Applications will undergo a multi-stage evaluation process Only selected awardees will be contacted after final review Learning and Mentorship Support Youth4Climate offers a structured learning package to help applicants strengthen their proposals and improve project readiness. 1. Deep Dive Webinars Overview of application process Guidance on thematic positioning Insights into evaluation criteria These webinars help applicants understand what reviewers prioritize and how to align proposals effectively. 2. 1-to-1 Online Mentorship Delivered in collaboration with United Nations Volunteers (UNV), this 45-minute session offers: Technical guidance on workplan and budget preparation Clarification on application requirements Personalized feedback to strengthen submission quality Registration opens on March 16, 2026. 3. Project Design Bootcamps (PDB) A three-part interactive series delivered jointly by Y4Capacity and Youth4Climate as part of the Climate Catalyst Mentorship Programme 3.0. Participants will: Refine project design Strengthen implementation readiness Align solutions with policy frameworks and Youth4Climate priorities 4. Learning Resources Library A curated collection of: Courses Tools Publications Reviewer-informed resources These materials help applicants sharpen their proposals and build on proven climate strategies.
