Global Emergency Group (GEG) is seeking an experienced finance and grants professional for a remote Finance, Compliance and Grants Coordinator consultancy supporting its Global Outbreak Response Support (GORS) programme. The part-time consultancy offers compensation of US$50–$60 per hour, depending on experience, and is initially scheduled for three months with the possibility of extension. The successful consultant will work approximately 30 hours per week and support financial management, compliance, grants oversight and expenditure reporting across an international outbreak-response programme. About the GORS Programme Global Outbreak Response Support (GORS) is delivered by Global Emergency Group under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy. The programme provides rapid activation, surge response and transition support to help countries detect, contain and recover from infectious disease outbreaks. GEG operates through a global network of regional response hubs, a pre-vetted surge roster and embedded country teams capable of mobilizing rapidly following an authorized outbreak response. The Finance, Compliance and Grants Coordinator will play an important role in ensuring that financial resources are accurately managed, compliant with donor requirements and connected to programme activities and results. About the Finance, Compliance and Grants Coordinator Role The coordinator will report functionally to the GEG Finance Manager while providing operational support to the GORS Program Director and GORS Senior Operations Lead. The role also involves close collaboration with Operations, the Senior Technical Director and subaward managers, the Intelligence-to-Action Hub Lead and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer. The position combines financial management with grants oversight and compliance responsibilities in a fast-moving international emergency-response environment. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and decision-useful financial information across GORS activities. Key duties include: Maintaining programme budgets, forecasts and burn-rate analysis. Developing activation scenarios and cost allocations. Linking significant programme costs to approved activities, outputs, results and responsible functions. Supporting rapid activation budgeting. Managing travel advances, procurement, vendor payments and partner payments. Supporting financial onboarding for new personnel. Managing payroll and expense processing. Conducting monthly reconciliations of company credit-card charges. Supporting financial management for GORS personnel. Ensuring compliance with applicable local labour laws and financial requirements. Managing financial aspects of taxes, severance, leave, overtime, timesheets and holidays. Developing or maintaining policies covering travel, expenses and work schedules. Monitoring subaward and subcontract budgets. Reviewing invoices, supporting documentation, budget-to-actuals and variances. Producing financial reports and decision briefs for programme leadership. Preparing funding requests to GHSD. Producing monthly expense accounts for submission to GHSD. Supporting expenditure-to-results reviews. Maintaining audit-ready financial records. Supporting fraud controls, segregation of duties and reconciliation processes. Supporting lifecycle-cost modelling and continuation or scale-up planning. Ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. Government financial requirements. Qualifications and Experience The position is designed for an experienced finance, accounting or grants professional. Applicants should have a relevant degree or professional qualification in finance, accounting, grants management or a related field. The position requires at least five to eight years of relevant experience in donor-funded programme finance. Experience involving U.S. Government-funded programmes and emergency operations is particularly relevant. Candidates should also have strong experience in: Budgeting and forecasting. Subaward monitoring. Financial compliance. Audit preparation and readiness. Rapid-response finance. Financial reporting. Managing financial records across multiple projects or countries. The successful candidate should be able to translate financial information into clear management decisions, particularly when working under time pressure. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain organized and accurate financial records are also essential. Professional fluency in English is required. Additional languages and international experience are considered assets. Remote Working Arrangement The position is listed as remote, with the consultant working from their home base. The expected working schedule is 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, and the successful candidate must be available during emergencies or when critical client requirements arise. The role may also involve planned travel as required. Because the position supports an international outbreak-response programme, the successful consultant will be expected to comply with GEG’s security management directives and policies. Contract Duration and Compensation The consultancy is initially expected to last three months, with the possibility of extension. The position is part-time at 30 hours per week. Compensation is advertised at: US$50–$60 per hour, depending on experience.
