About the Research Project The selected candidate will join the project titled “Transnational Actors in International Organizations: Conditions for Influence.” Funded by the Swedish Research Council, the project explores how and under what conditions non-state actors influence decision-making within international organizations. The research focuses on key transnational actors such as: Environmental organizations Trade unions Human rights groups By examining their role in global governance, the project aims to deepen understanding of policy influence, advocacy strategies, and institutional dynamics within international systems. Key Responsibilities The Research Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the project’s data-driven research activities. Core responsibilities include: Collecting decision documents from international organizations Gathering statements and materials from transnational actors Preparing datasets for quantitative text analysis Supporting basic text analysis and research tasks This role is highly suited for individuals interested in empirical political research, data collection, and analytical work related to global governance. Required Qualifications To be considered for the position, applicants must meet the following criteria: A Master’s degree (or near completion) in political science or a related field Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken) Experience in quantitative text analysis Proven ability to collect and manage large datasets or empirical materials Familiarity with literature on international organizations or transnational actors In addition to technical skills, personal suitability and attention to detail are highly valued.
