Neuromatch, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a global and inclusive platform for computational science education and research, is seeking a highly motivated Academy Program Analyst. This fully remote, contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s flagship programs, including the Neuromatch Academy, impact reporting initiatives, and other educational and research projects. Headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, Neuromatch operates globally, enabling participation from talented individuals across continents. The organization emphasizes collaboration, professional development, and innovation, providing team members with the tools and support to grow both professionally and personally. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis The Academy Program Analyst will serve as the primary coordinator for all organizational data analysis initiatives. Key tasks include: Managing and analyzing datasets for the Academy, annual Impact Reporting, and other Neuromatch programs. Assessing program effectiveness across all courses to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Cleaning, merging, and interpreting large, multi-year datasets from applications, surveys, and course evaluations. Creating dynamic, interactive visualizations and reports for leadership, partners, and the community. Developing and standardizing definitions, metrics, and methods to ensure consistency across programs and years. Supporting Program Directors and Course Directors in using data to guide strategic decisions. Academy Support In addition to data management, the analyst will provide operational and administrative support for Neuromatch courses: Assisting with student and teaching assistant selection processes. Ensuring surveys are properly distributed, clearly worded, and up to date. Managing pod check-ins and other in-course administrative tasks. Organizing documentation within the organization’s server and wiki. Responding to inquiries via support email and Discord channels. The role combines analytical expertise with hands-on program coordination, providing a holistic view of educational impact and operational needs. Candidate Requirements Applicants should demonstrate: Intermediate experience in data analysis, preferably in an educational or nonprofit context. Proficiency in Python, Google Colab, GitHub, and JupyterBooks. Familiarity with process documentation and terminology. Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly in English. Cultural awareness and the ability to adapt to diverse personal and professional backgrounds. Quick adaptability to new systems and tools. Reliable internet connectivity suitable for video conferencing and streaming. Availability to work full-time during Neuromatch Academy (22 June – 24 July). Preferred Qualifications Background or interest in science, research, or education. Prior experience in impact reporting for nonprofit organizations. Familiarity with Neuromatch programs, either as a volunteer, student, or previous team member. Benefits and Work Structure Contract Role – 6-month engagement, May 1 to October 31, 2026. Fully Remote – Applicants may work from any location worldwide. Flexible Schedule – Primarily Monday–Friday, coordinating 2–3 meetings weekly in US continental business hours. Professional Development – Reimbursement for career growth opportunities and mentoring support. Competitive Compensation – $35–$40 USD per hour for US-based applicants, with geography-based adjustments for international candidates. Paid Local Holidays and a week-long post-Academy break. This contract may transition into a permanent full-time role pending funding. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and statutory obligations.
