Apply for the PAID Global Tax Fairness Fellowship 2026: Turning Economic Justice into Real-World Impact
globalsouthopportunities.com

Application Deadline

April 28, 2026

Description

The Global Tax Fairness Fellowship emerges as a timely and strategic initiative, offering experienced professionals the opportunity to directly contribute to one of the most pressing economic justice movements of our time. As global inequality intensifies, the conversation around taxing extreme wealth is rapidly shifting from rhetoric to actionable policy. Global Tax Fairness Fellowship: A Fellowship with Real Policy Impact This seven-month programme places fellows within leading tax justice organisations across regions including Europe, North America, and Africa. Participants work alongside influential experts such as Gabriel Zucman, engaging in high-level policy discussions and campaigns from day one. Unlike traditional fellowships, this is not observational or academic—it is deeply embedded in real-world policy work. Fellows are expected to actively contribute to campaigns, research, and advocacy efforts that shape global tax reform. Global Tax Fairness Fellowship: Programme Structure The fellowship is structured into four key phases: Selection (April–June 2026): A multi-stage process assessing skills rather than credentials Training (September 2026): One month of intensive preparation, including in-person sessions in the Netherlands Placement (October 2026 – March 2027): Six months within a host organisation working on active policy challenges Ongoing Guidance: Cohort-based learning and mentorship throughout the programme This structure ensures that fellows are not only prepared but also continuously supported as they navigate complex policy environments. Global Tax Fairness Fellowship: What Fellows Receive Participants benefit from a comprehensive support package, including: A full monthly salary (approximately €3,800, adjusted by location) Placement in top-tier organisations such as think tanks, advocacy groups, and international bodies Access to a global network of professionals committed to economic justice Continued career support after programme completion Notably, around 80% of previous fellows remained in the field, highlighting the programme’s effectiveness as a career transition pathway. Who Should Apply? The fellowship targets mid-career professionals with at least five years of experience in fields such as: Economics, finance, or tax law Public policy and advocacy Communications and campaigning Community organising and coalition building Importantly, prior expertise in tax is not mandatory. The programme values transferable skills and a demonstrated commitment to social impact. Applicants must also be eligible to work in one of the host regions: the EU, United States, Canada, or Kenya. Why Tax Fairness Matters The urgency behind this fellowship is grounded in stark global realities: Hundreds of billions of dollars are lost annually to tax avoidance Wealth concentration continues to rise, with the richest individuals controlling a disproportionate share of global assets Public services remain underfunded as a result of systemic tax inequities Addressing these challenges requires more than policy ideas—it demands skilled professionals who can translate ambition into implementation. This fellowship is designed to meet that need. Application Timeline Applications open: 27 March 2026 Deadline: 27 April 2026 Video interviews: Early May Final selection: Late June to early July The application process includes a video interview, written assignment, and personal interviews, ensuring a thorough evaluation of candidates’ skills and potential. A Career Shift with Purpose What sets this fellowship apart is its clear focus on impact. It is designed for professionals who are ready to pivot their careers toward meaningful, systemic change. Whether coming from corporate, nonprofit, or policy backgrounds, fellows are united by a desire to contribute to a fairer global economic system. Final Insight The Global Tax Fairness Fellowship represents more than a professional opportunity—it is an entry point into a growing global movement. As momentum builds around taxing the ultra-wealthy, the need for skilled, committed individuals becomes increasingly urgent. For those seeking to align their careers with purpose and influence high-stakes policy at a global level, this fellowship offers a rare and powerful platform to do just that.
