The 2026–2027 Lazord Fellowship is now open for applications, offering a transformative opportunity for young graduates passionate about driving social change. Designed for visionary leaders, the fellowship targets individuals committed to advancing impact in areas such as education, women’s rights, social entrepreneurship, youth development, corporate engagement, and human rights. About the Lazord Fellowship The Lazord Fellowship is a prestigious, year-long leadership development program that equips emerging leaders with the skills, networks, and real-world experience needed to contribute meaningfully to civil society. Since its launch in Egypt in 2010, the program has expanded to include chapters in Jordan, Tunisia, and Greece, collaborating with over 50 partner organizations across the region. Through a combination of hands-on work placements, structured training, and mentorship, fellows gain a deep understanding of civic engagement while enhancing their leadership and professional competencies. The program also fosters regional collaboration, bringing together fellows from all participating countries for shared learning experiences. Fellowship Structure and Experience Selected fellows are placed within a local organization in their respective country for a full year. During this time, they engage in meaningful work that contributes to the organization’s mission while developing practical skills in a professional setting. The fellowship includes: Placement in a host organization for one year A monthly living stipend based on local cost of living At least 18 training sessions led by civil society leaders and professional trainers Monthly one-on-one mentorship with experienced professionals Participation in a collaborative research project Access to extensive local and international networking opportunities Attendance at two regional International Conferences (opening and closing), bringing together fellows from Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, and Greece This multi-dimensional approach ensures fellows are well-prepared to take on leadership roles across sectors. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must meet the following requirements: Hold a university degree in any discipline Have graduated in 2024 or later Demonstrate a strong record of civic engagement or community involvement Be proficient in English Be available to commit full-time for one year starting September 2026 Be able to attend the International Conference in October 2026 Possess legal residency and work authorization in the country of application Additional requirement: Male applicants from Egypt must have completed military service, received an exemption, or hold an official exemption certificate Why Apply for the Lazord Fellowship?
